These turnings and other items were all made from a single tree from Camano Island. The tree had many, many burls. It was rotting in the center and had to be removed. I was lucky to get the entire tree. It was quite challenging to remove the bark and yet retain all the detail of the burl surface. The surface, when cut and polished, shows an amazing visual figure, but the natural surface is also a fascinating if less familiar surface.
